Arcadis is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer for our team in Chicago.

Role description:

As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will play a crucial role in working with a Senior Resident Engineer overseeing construction projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, adhere to specifications, and stay within budget and timeline constraints.

Role accountabilities:

• Responsible for assuring all submittals, schedules, insurance, and other contract requirements are submitted and approved by the responsible stakeholders.
• Chair meetings with contractors, facility personnel, design consultants and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and distribute meeting minutes
• Verify that the required material inspection and testing is performed and documented
• Responsible for maintaining/cataloging inspection records, photos and shop drawings
• Generate correspondence between the owner and the General Contractor
• Monitor contractor’ progress against approved construction schedule
• Review and process change orders
• Review and approve contractor pay applications
• Ensure manuals and booklets required by contract documents are collected from the contractor
• Assist with final project close-out
• Gather documents, reports, photos, from CM field staff and prepare for official submission.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Preferably we're looking for an EIT with a strong ambition to become a PE. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering and show dedication to gaining the required experience for licensure. 
• Minimum of 3 or more years’ experience in construction management, with a focus on transit and rail projects. 
• Proven experience with construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Bluebeam Revu)

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $135,000.
