Role description:
Arcadis is looking for an Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Systems Engineer with 0 to 2 years of experience to join our Water Business Line in our White Plains, New York office. This is an exciting opportunity for an I&C Systems Design Engineer to join our team and work on projects with a variety of I&C, automation system design, and SCADA integration. The selected candidate will be responsible for I&C and SCADA design and implementation services for diverse clients and projects for environmental remediation, industrial & municipal water and wastewater treatment, conveyance systems and facilities.
Role accountabilities:
As an Entry Level I&C Engineer, you will provide crucial engineering and design services to generate comprehensive design and construction documents for a variety of projects. You will collaborate closely with process, mechanical, and electrical engineering to create technical memoranda, develop design criteria, SCADA system architecture, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), SCADA network diagrams, process control functional narratives, control schematics, panel layout diagrams, and interconnection diagrams. You will work alongside the Project Manager to assist in planning, defining project scope, budgeting, cost estimating, and project scheduling. You will lend support to the electrical engineering team, contributing to the development of electrical designs to bolster I&C systems. Involvement in the crucial stages of factory testing, site acceptance testing, field checkout, and startup of I&C and SCADA system startups to ensure seamless implementation and functionality will also be a key part of your responsibilities.
In addition, you will:
•Utilize technical experience and expertise in the execution of I&C and SCADA projects from inception to successful startup and turnover.
•Program process control logic in PLCs and configure graphical HMI for SCADA system on a variety of platforms.
•Configure historical data collection, archiving and report generation on a variety of platforms.
•Produce effective and accurate written specifications for implementing I&C and SCADA projects.
•Travel to client sites and other Arcadis office locations as needed.
•Short term travel in the region for project meetings, site visits, etc.
Candidates should have proficiency in the following:
•Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
•Ability to self-direct and work on multiple assignments at once while meeting project deliverable dates and completing other task-driven assignments.
•Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent teamwork skills.
•Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications and experience:
•Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field of study.
•0 to 2 years of I&C, automation, and SCADA system design and implementation experience.
•Basic knowledge of PLC controls and SCADA systems.
•Basic knowledge of IT and industrial networks.
•Basic understanding of industrial processes.
•Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Willingness to travel (25%).
Preferred Qualifications:
•Knowledge in applying instrumentation and controls to process and electromechanical equipment and developing SCADA networks.
•Knowledge of designing and developing fiber optic cable networks for SCADA systems.
•Knowledge of radio and cellular telemetry networks.
•Experience in developing bid and construction documents.
•Experience in HMI/PLC platforms configuration.
•Experience in IT and industrial networks.
•PLC/HMI programming, configuration & startup experience.
•Design and programming experience in the water and wastewater industry.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $97,500.
