Archbishop Moeller High School is Hiring a Product Development / Industrial Design Teacher Near Cincinnati, OH

Executive Summary
Archbishop Moeller is an all-male, Catholic high school (grades 9-12) located in Cincinnati, OH. Founded by the Marianist order of Priests and Brothers, Moeller is a Catholic high school in the Marianist tradition. Moeller strives to educate all students, regardless of ability, in Mind, Body, and Spirit within a Community of Brothers. Moeller is nationally recognized for their House System and continues to be a leader in the integration of technology, celebrating over 20 years as a one-to-one tablet school. Moeller offers a comprehensive, college preparatory curriculum which includes over 30 Advanced Placement/College Credit Plus courses, as well as courses in visual and performing arts, world language, business, and information technology.
In fall 2024, Moeller will open its two-story interdisciplinary Innovation Hub, an expansive facility that will serve as the cornerstone for innovative curriculum, providing hands-on and authentic learning experiences. This will be home to multi-disciplinary classes in STEAM fields, as well as business/entrepreneurship. A hallmark of the Innovation Hub is the new “Design Build Lab”, an intentional makerspace facility that is fully-integrated with a design thinking and product development curriculum as well as a resource for the general Moeller community.
Moeller is seeking a full-time Product Development / Industrial Design Teacher (aka “Design Build" Teacher) to join our dynamic, dedicated, and collaborative faculty. Starting in August 2024, the successful candidate will teach courses in Design Thinking as well as Product Development in the new Design Build Lab.
Selected Duties
  • Develop interactive, intellectually engaging project-based lessons in alignment with curricular and student goals.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for the Design Build Lab. Partner with other teachers to integrate use of makerspace capabilities into other courses and projects.
  • Design and offer co-curricular opportunities to support Moeller’s Design Build Lab in the context of the broader Innovation Hub programming.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Innovation and Curriculum, the broader Moeller community, and external partners on co-curricular activities.
  • Analyze assessment data to monitor teaching strategies in relation to student success. Collaborate and assist intervention specialists in providing differentiated instruction per students’ IEP/SP.
  • Provide substantive and timely feedback to students and parents on academic progress via our LMS – MoeCampus.
  • Integrate technological tools to support effective instruction in alignment with ISTE standards.
  • Participate in departmental Professional Learning Communities and attend educational conferences/workshops to maintain and improve content, pedagogical and/or technological knowledge.
  • Serve as a mentor group teacher in our House System, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates will possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, mechanical engineering, or similar, and will be willing to meet the requirements for Ohio teaching license eligibility.
Candidates should possess knowledge of and experience with current best-practice in project-based learning, design thinking, and/or product development education. Ideal candidates will have classroom teaching experience, be a lifelong learner, and possess a comprehensive understanding of best practices for educating adolescent boys.
Particular consideration will be given to those candidates with industry insights and connections to facilitate client—informed, real-world projects, professional networking, and potential speakers.
Ideal candidates will be dynamic, personable, energetic individuals who work well with high school students and their families and will be able to help foster the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of each student. Compensation, Benefits and Hiring
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a robust benefits package including personal days, healthcare, dental, FSA, 401K option with employer contribution, paid lunch program, tuition remission for dependents, and graduate school tuition reimbursement. The position is full-time; contract is effective August 1.
