Archdiocese of Boston is Hiring a Business Manager (PT) St. Joseph Parish Near Braintree, MA

    The Business Manager of the Saint Joseph Parish in Lynn uses his or her faith and organizational, financial, and interpersonal skills to manage day-to-day operations for the office of our parish, assisting the Pastor with the stewardship of the physical, financial, and personnel resources of the parish. This is a part-time position, 12 hours a week and you will need to work at the Parish Office in Lynn.
    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Financial Management
      • Prepares annual reports, interim reports, and other miscellaneous reports. Handles bank relations to include management of accounts and problem-solving.
      • Manages bookkeeping functions including, but not limited to, payables and receivables and all other revenue and expenses of the parish.
      • Manages Second Collections requested by the Archdiocese or the Parish.
      • Reconciles monthly bank statements in a timely manner.
      • Staff liaison to Parish Finance Council.
      • Oversees the management of parishes’ operational and financial records. o Manages payment of salaries and benefits.
      • Responsible for communication with the Archdiocese regarding the finances of the Parish, especially through the RCAB assigned email.
      • Financial advisor to the Pastor.
    • General
      • Some additional operational and human resources responsibilities.
      • Attend meetings relative to the role, as necessary. o Active collaboration with the Catholic Appeal Campaign Coordinator of the Parish.
      • Responsible for reports to the Pastor about the Catholic Appeal Campaign status of the Parish (all updates are sent from the Archdiocese to the business managers’ email) o
      • Manages fundraisers and grant applications for the Parish.
      • Reviews and manages contracts and seeks more beneficial contracts and contractors.
      • Attend training provided by the Archdiocese of Boston.
      • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BA/BS in business, accounting, or related field with 7 years related experience or equivalent preferred.
    • 3-5 yrs. supervisory/management experience required.
    • Understand and support the mission of the Catholic Church and its efforts.
    • Experience handling confidential, sensitive matters with tact, respect, and discretion required.
    • Demonstrated experience in finance and accounting, QuickBooks, or Intacct experience preferred.
    • nowledgeable about safety and security and human resources issues preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in appropriate computer technology skills; must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.
    • Experience administering payroll is preferred.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • A strong service orientation is critical.

    PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:

    • Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
    • Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
    • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
