Archdiocese of Boston is Hiring a Delegates for Investigations (FT) Near Braintree, MA

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investigator to conduct thorough and objective investigations into allegations of abuse within the Catholic Church. The Investigator will be responsible for gathering and analyzing evidence, interviewing witnesses and victims, producing detailed investigative reports, and maintaining comprehensive electronic and physical files. The ideal candidate will have a substantial background in law enforcement, demonstrating expertise in investigative techniques and a commitment to justice and confidentiality.
    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct detailed investigations into allegations of abuse within the Catholic Church.
    • Collect and analyze evidence, including documents, physical evidence, and digital data.
    • Interview victims, witnesses, alleged perpetrators, and other relevant parties with sensitivity and professionalism.
    • Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive investigative reports detailing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
    • Collaborate with legal counsel, church authorities, and law enforcement agencies as necessary.
    • Maintain and organize secure, confidential electronic and physical case files.
    • Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to abuse investigations.
    • Provide testimony in legal proceedings as required.
    • Ensure all investigations are conducted with the highest standards of integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality.
    • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance investigative skills and knowledge.

    Qualifications:

    • Extensive experience in law enforcement, preferably with a focus on investigative work related to abuse or similar sensitive cases.
    • Strong understanding of legal and ethical considerations in abuse investigations.
    • Excellent interviewing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with victims and witnesses.
    • Proficiency in report writing, with the ability to produce detailed and accurate documentation.
    • Experience in handling and preserving physical and digital evidence.
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining case files.
    • Proficiency in using investigative tools and software, as well as standard office applications.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law, or a related field is preferred.
    • Relevant certifications in investigation or law enforcement are a plus.
    • Knowledge of the Catholic Church’s structure, culture, and organization are a plus.
