Archdiocese of Boston is Hiring a Director of Data Administration and Analysis (FT) Near Braintree, MA

    The Director of Data and Administration effectively manages data, successfully synthesizes disparate data, and provides accurate research- and data-related support to ensure the efficient operation of the Catholic Schools Office. This individual will supervise the Data and Applications Analyst if such position is staffed. In addition, this individual must be a self-starter, consistently take the initiative, and ask for help when needed. An effective Director of Data Administration and Analysis will collaborate with members of the Archdiocese Information Technology Department to enhance sharing of data between departments. He or she will also work very closely with all members of the Catholic School Office and can work diligently to help maintain smooth office operations, meet stringent deadlines, and help reduce the workload of the team.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Safeguard data from multiple databases to maintain a centralized data storage management system. Databases include student information system, tuition management, enrollment, and results of standard testing.
    • Manage and maintain user-centered platform with the ability to disaggregate metrics related to strategic planning, student achievement gaps, enrollment trends, demographics, and finances.
    • Respond to data inquiries and research requests from CSO staff and external partners regarding confidential and sensitive matters; use statistical analysis and data to visualization skills represent data; demonstrate discretion and exercise a high level of professionalism and follow through.
    • Lead quantitative and qualitative research on trends in Catholic education based on demographics and other relevant factors. Design and implement workflows to translate the research into actionable insights to further the mission of the CSO and its schools.
    • Work with others to gather enrollment, retention, and financial data from schools and analyze the data to assist with recommendations for best practices and operational sustainability.
    • Assemble and refine financial dashboards for elementary schools and review audited financial statements of separately-incorporated schools to evaluate operational sustainability.
    • Assemble financial data and operational outcomes on grants and donations for review by senior leadership and donor reporting purposes.
    • Maintain enrollment and demographic data to support government programs and determine school investment fund allocations.
    • Maintain electronic document filing system and follow Archdiocese of Boston privacy and data security and data use policies.
    • Supervise Data and Applications Analyst to ensure accuracy of data collection and reporting.
    • As appropriate, work with the RCAB Office of General Counsel to review legal and other contracts pertaining to CSO outsourced services.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, finance, or IT with 4-5 years management experience.
    • Proficient in Excel, Qualtrix, and Tableau or similar programs. Experience with Intacct, Northwest Evaluation Association testing platform, and FACTS Student Information System a plus.
    • Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent relationship-building skills with a focus on service to others.
    • Demonstrates a clear understanding of and commitment to the Catholic traditions of education, social justice, and service to others.
