The Charlestown Catholic Collaborative, consisting of the parishes of St. Mary- St. Catherine and St. Francis de Sales and Harvest on Vine food pantry is looking for a Pastoral Associate to join our Collaborative Staff. We’re looking for an individual who, deeply committed to their faith and love for Jesus Christ and the Church, has the vision of Collaborative ministry, the energy and enthusiasm for pastoral outreach, openness, and ability to build learning and spiritual opportunities for parishioners, develop stewardship opportunities, deepen the relationship of our parish families, and oversee ministries, working closely with the Pastor, staff, Pastoral Council, and volunteers.
Position hours per week: 30.
Salary- following Archdiocesan guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborates with the Pastor, and with other members of the Collaborative staff in the overall pastoral ministry of the Parish.
• Collaborates in the overall process of the administration including needs assessment, pastoral planning, decision-making, implementation, etc.
• Acts as director or coordinator of ministries and/or programs as agreed upon by mutual negotiation. Participate in the recruitment, training, and formation of other members of the Parish staff including volunteers.
• Leads communal prayer when needed and liturgically appropriate.
• Assists, develops, and is present at Parish gatherings, such as Sunday liturgies and social functions.
• Assists or provides ministry for persons in crisis.
• Develops, coordinates and chairs RCIA and Adult Confirmation preparation.
• Chairs discussion and Bible study groups throughout the year, and particularly during liturgical periods such as Lent & Advent
• Serves on the Parish Pastoral Council as an ex-officio member.
• Participates in regular staff meetings.
• Performs other tasks to be determined and agreed upon at staff meetings.
• Demonstrates an interest in the initiation of new members in the parish community and in the process of evangelization and renewal.
• Relates to parish, collaborative, vicariate, and archdiocesan structures as appropriate.
• Participates in and represents the Collaborative in the community of Charlestown at gatherings, meetings, and events as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in pastoral or theological studies, in divinity, or its equivalent from an accredited Catholic institution is required.
• Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
• Must be registered and certified by the Archdiocese of Boston as a Pastoral Associate.
• Demonstrated management, leadership, and group process skills.
• Must be a strong communicator both in written and oral forms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
• Familiarity with Spanish is helpful.

PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:

• Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 6 hours/day.
• Ability to sit for up to 6 hours/day.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
