Maintenance Technician

Job Description

About: St. Frances Cabrini High School & Academy is a Roman Catholic, co-educational school from 7 – 12, under the purview of the Archdiocese of Detroit, in Allen Park, Michigan. Founded in October 1960, Cabrini High School & Academy has a total enrollment of 281 students.

Mission: Educating the mind, strengthening the body, and forming the soul according to the Catholic Tradition.

Goal: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the professional appearance of St. Frances Cabrini Parish & Catholic School.

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Facilities Manager

Essential Functions & Duties

Ensure all areas are very clean and kept in proper order.
Follow maintenance/custodial checklist for daily duties.
Address staff and student needs and issues as they arise.
Keep current with campus security policies and procedures.
Participate with other staff in promoting good teamwork.
Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

3 years of experience
Lift up to 50 lbs. or more (furniture, ladders, etc.)
Ability to be mobile up to 8 hours per day
Ability to perform simple grasping, pushing, and pulling
Ability to communicate with staff in a professional manner
Constant stooping, bending, reaching, and squatting are required
Protecting God’s Children (VIRTUS training) and subject to Archdiocese of Detroit expanded background check.

Compensation & Benefits: Starting Wage is $13.00 to $18.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience. Benefits include Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical Insurance, Delta Dental Insurance, and VSP Vision Insurance, Retirement Pension, Paid Vacation, Sick, and Personal Time Off, Optional Life Insurance, and Cabrini Catholic School Employee Tuition Discount.
