Central Catholic School is looking for a substitute teacher for a middle school ELA block. The teacher would be responsible for teacher 6th, 7th and 8th grade ELA, as well as the 6th grade homeroom teacher. This is a full time position and the assignment will be approximately 6 weeks long, October - December.

I. IDENTIFYING INFORMATION
Position Title: Classroom Teacher Long Term Substitute

II. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
A Catholic substitute teacher understands that Christ is the ever-present teacher in the classroom. The long-term substitute teacher is responsible for providing classroom coverage for a teacher who is absent for an extended period of time. The substitute teacher supervises students, manages classroom behavior, and other assigned duties in the absence of the regular classroom teacher The long-term substitute works the regular hours of the absent classroom teacher during his/her absence.
III. POSITION CONTENT
A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Follow the curriculum and instructions provided by the regular teacher while performing supervision and classroom management.
2. Work as a team/partner with other classroom teachers
3. Maintain confidential information about students' developmental assessments, individual goals, and observations of progress toward meeting goals.
4. Maintains and monitors scholar learning through data collection, observations and collaboration with the lead classroom teacher
5. Supervises small group supplemental scholar programming
6. Collects and compiles data that demonstrates growth relating to scholar instruction.
7. Help supervise school events, field trips and other school related activities
8. Works with and maintains good relationships with children, parents, and parish groups and volunteers
9. Other duties as necessary to ensure efficient functioning of the School/ Parish/ Agency
10. Complies with all school regulations and policies at all times.
11. Models the mission and values of Central Catholic.

1. Knowledge of instructional and curricular resources and their purposes in an educational setting
2. Excellent interpersonal skills

6. Operate standard office equipment including phone, copier, fax, computer, email.

B. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1. Must be able to understand and to comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct
2. Must be able to successfully complete the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training
3. Background screening required
4. High School Diploma
5. Valid driver's license required

• Environment- school-setting including exposure to loud noises, moderate to high levels of stress, exposure to weather conditions to provide needed outdoor supervision.
