Reports To: Pastor/Parochial Administrator

Job Summary:

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and profitability. This role involves strategic planning, improving operational systems, processes, and policies, and managing a team of department heads to achieve organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of managing operations in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with the pastor to set and achieve short and long-term organizational goals.
    • Monitor and analyze operational performance and recommend improvements.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of department heads, ensuring alignment with company goals.
    • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Financial Management:
    • Assist in the preparation and management of the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
    • Monitor financial performance, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement corrective actions.
    • Oversee procurement and supply chain management to optimize resource utilization.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and increase productivity.
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
    • Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and operational enhancements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with administrative staff members, heads of parish organizations, and coordinators of volunteer organizations to ensure cohesive and efficient operations.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to achieve organizational objectives.
    • Act as a liaison between administrative staff and operational staff.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
    • Oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance.
    • Ensure the security of company assets and data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in a senior operational role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in using operational software and tools.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Primarily office-based with some travel required to various company locations.
  • May involve extended hours and occasional weekends to meet project deadlines.
