HOUSE PORTER / FLOOR MAINTENANCE - PT

Villa Saint Joseph Residence, located in Darby, PA is currently seeking a candidate for the open position of porter/floor maintenance. Villa Saint Joseph is a home for retired priests. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling and with occasional Saturday required.

Primary Responsibilities include:

Keep the front of the building free from trash and debris. ● Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner, free of hazardous chemicals. Equipment must be cleaned and properly stored well before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times and at the end of the shift. ● Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures. ● Coordinate routine isolation procedures with nursing service and discard infectious and all wastes into appropriate containers equipment. ● Keep work/assignment areas and objects such as protruding mop/ broom handles, unnecessary equipment, supplies. ● Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies as directed or requested. ● Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units in residential rooms and or recreational areas daily or as directed. ● Clean floors, hallways, stairways, and elevators to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting. (Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly setup prior to performing such duties.) ● Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, extraction & bonneting, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting of areas that include offices, resident rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas such as dining rooms. ● Perform turn around cleaning procedures, as instructed, when a resident is discharged and/or transferred to another room/area. ● Assists with Laundry duties as needed and directed by supervisor. ● Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor, including setup and breakdown of chairs, tables, and tents etc. for special occasions. ● Apply stripper to floors (slippery surface) to remove old wax then refinish floors with new wax. ● Ensure satisfactory and timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedule. ● Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to your supervisor. ● Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.

Primary Requirements:

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have floor maintenance experience.
• Must be over 18 years of age.
