Job Summary: The Senior Acrylic Technician is responsible for overseeing the production, assembly and finishing of acrylic products. This role includes advanced fabrication tasks, quality assurance and mentoring junior technicians. The Senior Acrylic Technician ensures that all products meet high standards of quality and precision and is involved in process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advanced Fabrication:
  • Execute complex cutting, shaping and forming of acrylic materials.
  • Utilize advanced techniques and machinery for intricate acrylic designs and projects.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Implement and monitor quality control processes to maintain consistent product excellence.
• Technical Leadership:
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and new hires.
  • Train team members on advanced fabrication techniques and proper use of machinery.
• Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement improvements in production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and refine production standards and protocols.
• Project Management:
  • Coordinate and oversee specific projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining quality and adherence to specifications.
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for team members.
• Inventory and Resource Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate stock of materials.
  • Manage resources effectively to minimize downtime and optimize production schedules.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
• Extensive experience (typically 5 years) as an Acrylic Technician or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in advanced acrylic fabrication techniques and use of specialized machinery.
• Strong understanding of material properties and fabrication methods.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle materials and operate machinery.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a workshop or manufacturing setting.
• Exposure to loud noise, dust and chemicals; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn.
• Standing, bending, and lifting of materials are required.
