Job DescriptionLow Voltage & Alarm TechnicianArchis is hiring a Low Voltage & Alarm Technician. This position will report to Orange County Public Schools for service as an employee of Archis. The position requires strong knowledge of all low voltage systems, with a special focus on commercial Alarms.Candidates must pass a background check and drug screening prior to work start.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Providing on site maintenance for commercial low voltage systems
  • Responsible for installation AND programming of alarm and other systems - must have extensive experience with configuration and programming
  • Hard wire alarm, CCTV and access control products
  • Installation and termination security equipment, coaxial cable and Cat5e cable
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • CCTV experience strongly preferred
  • Identifying and recommending additional equipment and services based on customer needs
  • Educating customer about ordered and installed services
  • Verification of proper device installation and testing of equipment
  • Proficiency in low voltage cable installation techniques
  • Working knowledge of tools used in alarm industries
  • Knowledge and understanding of common alarm systems
  • Basic knowledge of routers and home networking
  • Inventory management and accuracy
  • Work proficiently with hand tools
  • Working independently with minimal supervision
  • Communicate with existing customers to find new opportunities or needs
  • Demonstrate knowledge of products and services to customers
  • Keep accurate records for inventory and time
  • Troubleshoot technical problems
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Degree, or equivalent
  • Electrical or low voltage electrical: 2 years (Required)
  • BICSI, NICET, FASA/BASA, or other related certifications preferred
  • Experience with common industry manufacturers such as Axis, Honeywell, Advidia, Tyco, Panasonic, etc.
  • Good driving record, valid driver’s license
  • Excellent communication skills
