Electrical Estimator Preference is given to candidates based in our ArchKey/Sachs Electric office in St. Louis, MO, ArchKey/Parsons office in Minneapolis, MN, ArchKey/Sprig office in San Jose, CA, or ArchKey/Mona office in Clinton, MD. About the position As an Estimator, you will prepare and coordinate electrical estimates for large, complex, and dynamic projects, you will make complete material surveys including most power and systems, and interpret electrical drawings and specification requirements. Our Estimators play a key role in coordinating estimate take-offs and leading teams on some of the industry's most challenging projects. Day in the life Perform material take-off responsibilities (complete for small projects; partial for major projects). Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate. Secure and review quotes from subcontractors and look to optimize labor efficiency. Attend and lead estimate review meetings, vendor meetings, and RFP proposal reviews. Work in partnership with Project Managers to determine general expenses, labor rates, and additional costs. Work with the Design department to build projects to ensure an accurate and constructible project. Utilize Bluebeam, Accubid, and other software to properly estimate projects, ensuring all estimates and RFPs are fulfilled to the customer and ArchKey's satisfaction. Stay informed of new electrical codes, technology, techniques, and practices. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent work experience in construction management or related field Minimum 1 year in electrical estimating, common code requirements, and design/build and plan/spec estimating Excellent communication skills including high-quality documentation and report preparation. Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Must have extensive knowledge of electrical code. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as effectively as part of a team Travel Some regional travel and occasional overnight travel are required.
