Arcosa Marine Products, Inc. is searching for an experienced Purchasing/Buyer for our Gallatin, TN location. As a Buyer you’ll be managing/purchasing material/inventory.

Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group is comprised of Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

Responsibilities:
• Run MRP Buy Reports
• Request quotes from suppliers
• Maintain strategic sourcing plan, continuously evaluate supply chain sources
• Issue and manage purchase orders
• Assist in managing supplier quality program
• Assist engineering in evaluating viable alternative components or suppliers
• Assist plant management in ensuring inventory items are available to meet production schedule
• Assists with forecasting and stock levels
• Work under the general direction of the plant operations manager or business unit management
• Implement and champion continuous improvement initiatives
• Comply with all company safety rules and procedures
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as required

Requirements:
• High School Diploma is required; Associates or BA preferred
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• 2 years of experience in purchasing and/or supply chain, or purchasing from oversea suppliers and onshoring products a plus
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/MRP system preferred, Microsoft office “Excel” a must
