Position SummaryThe Director of Compliance is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of regulatory compliance within the organization. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Director of Compliance collaborates with various departments to assess compliance risks, develop strategies for mitigation, and provide guidance on compliance-related matters. Responsibilities
Work with system’s department directors and managers to ensure that the compliance program is implemented throughout the system
Verifying AHS code of conduct and compliance-related policies and procedures are being followed.
Ensure that conduct is consistent with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Partner with system’s leadership to provide education, coordinate compliance auditing and montoring activities, and conduct compliance investigatins.
Monitor the system’s facility Privacy Officers to ensure compliance with all requirements of the HIPAA administrative and privacy requirements, and will be responsible for coordinating the AHS Privacy Program.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
A bachelor's degree required; Graduate level degree is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospital system is required.
Must have hospital experience.
For profit health care experience a plus.
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) certification preferred.
Certification in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated management and leadership in compliance and privacy.
Knowledge and experience with all general health care compliance and privacy regulations required.
Knowledge and experience with hospital specific health care laws and regulations, and hospital inpatient/outpatient coding and billing compliance required.
