The Newsletter Manager contributes to Areya Media’s mission by writing, editing, and formatting newsletters for Okayplayer and OkayAfrica. Your duties include running email marketing campaigns end-to-end, managing email databases, and creating newsletters.

The Newsletter Manager has the following responsibilities and duties.

• Ideate, compose, and manage newsletters for Okayplayer and OkayAfrica. 
• Stay abreast with cultural events pertinent to Okayplayer & OkayAfrica and translate this information into engaging, clickable newsletters.
• Design and implement direct email marketing campaigns.
• Proofread emails for clarity, grammar, and spelling.
• Ensure mobile-friendly email templates.
• Analyze campaign performance and suggest improvements.
• Ensure emails follow industry policies and best practices.

The Newsletter Manager should have the following skills, education and experience.

• 4-6 years of experience in the digital publishing industry, specifically working with digital content teams
• Previous experience in newsletter writing and working in Mailchimp.
• Strong media, entertainment knowledge, connections, and passion for the industry
• A self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision and direction
• Has the ability to provide concise reporting and analytics of newsletter subscription growth and overall performance metrics.
• A passion for high-quality digital content.
