A day in the Life: As the HQHV Spay/Neuter Supervisor, you will supervise all operational aspects of the Shelter Surgery department while championing the AHS core values of Innovation, Compassion, and Excellence . This position is on the floor working alongside the team to model and teach patient care and improve efficiencies. You will be responsible for the coordination of activities with other departments to ensure efficient flow and treatment of all animals. You will communicate effectively and work closely with the Manager to update and implement new/existing policies and procedures to keep Shelter Surgery in adherence to all board and humane alliance requirements. You will compile and report all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual statistical data. You will work with DEA license holders' to adhere to DEA requirements for all controlled drugs and work with premise holder and lead veterinarian to ensure clinic compliance for all Federal and State licensing. You will have effective communication with leadership and have the ability to multitask in a high volume environment. Job Requirements:
High school diploma/GED
Graduation from technical school plus two years of practical experience in a veterinary clinic or shelter medicine and at least one year of supervisory experience.
Perform all duties of a veterinary technician and be comfortable in a surgical environment.
Creative and idea-generated individual with the ability to embrace and champion change.
Must have excellent attention to detail.
Ability to solve complex problems and balance multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills are needed.
Should have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflict.
Work Environment / Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
