Duties & responsibilities:

• Under the mentorship and guidance of the Confluencenter director, thepostdoctoral fellow will assist in the conceptualization and coordination ofthe Confluencenter Experiential Learning Opportunity Program and expandundergraduate research and learning opportunities, including overseeing aspecial issue of an undergraduate journal. The program aims to integratedialogue, critical reflection, theoretical contextualization as well asconnections of experience to broader sociocultural issues.
• The postdoctoral fellow will serve as a liaison between the Confluencenterstaff and scholars, artists, human rights advocates, and community leaders whoare vital collaborators to the Experiential Learning Opportunity Program andjournal.
• Through the Experiential Learning Opportunity Program, the postdoctoralfellow will work directly with the Fronteridades faculty mentor(s) and travelto the U.S.-Mexico border in Nogales to carry out workshops and roundtablediscussions that introduce students to the local dynamics, culture, andcommunity perspectives of the borderlands region. Speaking Spanish is notrequired but encouraged.
• The postdoctoral fellow will be paired with two faculty mentors: onedirectly aligned with the Fellow's field of research study, and the director ofthe Confluencenter for broad consultation of the program.
