Arizona is Hiring a Manager, Education and Engagement Near Tucson, AZ

Duties & responsibilities:

·Develop and implement frameworks, strategies, activities, and messaging to enhance public understanding and appreciation of astrobiology.

·Plan and lead AABC representation and participation at community events, conferences, and public forums.

·Liaise with government (NASA) and industry partners to develop mutually beneficial research and training programs.

·Coordinate, co-design, and manage educational experiences, curricula, and products tailored to K-12 students and educators.

·Coordinate the Astrobiology Study Abroad and Summer Schools initiatives and other partnerships for internship and training opportunities.

·Manage the Astrobiology Ambassadors program (Undergraduate program) including recruitment, communication and event coordination and planning.

·Foster and manage relationships with media, including UANews and other public platforms to disseminate astrobiology knowledge.

·Additional duties may be assigned

Knowledge:

·Astrobiology and/or Related Sciences: Background and knowledge of Natural or Physical Science and/or science education.

·Education and Outreach Methods: Understanding effective educational techniques and outreach strategies for diverse audiences including social media.

·Knowledge of resources and institutions that support science and science education and space science education in Southern Arizona.

·Program Development and Management: Knowledge of principles and practices in developing, implementing, and managing educational and training programs.

·Stakeholder Engagement: Knowledge of stakeholder engagement strategies, including government and industry partners, educational institutions, and the public.

Skills:

·Team Management: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team effectively.

·Communication and Public Speaking: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities.

·Networking and Relationship Building: Proficiency in networking, partnership development, and maintaining professional relationships.

·Project Management: Strong project management skills, including planning, executing, and evaluating programs and events
