Arkansas Heart Hospital is Hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PRN) - ENCORE Near Bryant, AR

Responsible for performing all Nuclear Medicine procedures in a timely manner. Performs procedures according to physicians orders in the patients chart or per prescription on outpatients. As a member of the care team, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for working collaboratively with other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of patient care. Assumes, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.
Primary Duties
  • Performs nuclear medicine procedures in a timely manner; documents required information and communicates to primary physician and direct care staff pertinent information.
  • Coordinates and assists in the care of patients assigned, in collaboration with other nuclear medicine technologists, physicians, nurses and health staff.
  • Evaluates patient condition to adequately perform nuclear medicine exams.
  • Informs and explains procedure to be performed to patients, and what is expected in terms of his/her cooperation.
  • Provides comprehensive direct patient care and assures a safe and comforting environment.
  • Consults with other staff as necessary to meet the needs of the patient and family.
  • Ensures the necessary clinical equipment and supplies are available and are safely utilized.
  • Possesses the knowledge of growth and development of applicable patient population across the life span (i.e., neonate, adolescent, adult, geriatric).
  • Performs Point of Care procedures in a timely manner according to established policy and procedure. Documents required information and complies with all Point of Care quality control standards.
  • Performs other assigned duties as directed by supervisor based on demonstrated competencies.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) nuclear medicine and /or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification required. Current Arkansas State Nuclear Medicine Technologist license required. Current BLS certification required within 30 days. ACLS required prior to participating in walk stress testing. Certification is to be renewed by recommended renewal date on documentation.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred.
