Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund is Hiring a Director of Development Near Little Rock, AR

Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) seeks an experienced fund development professional to lead our statewide development efforts in support of a $4 million annual operating budget and a large and diverse pool of engaged donors. The Director of Development will plan and implement a development and fundraising program to provide for the short- and long-term needs of the organization.

  • Full-time, exempt, hybrid position (part home with equipment provided, office, and travel).
  • Salary range: $75,000-$90,000 commensurate with experience. 
  • Reports to Executive Director.

Who We Are:

Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) is a 501c3 charitable organization serving low-income single parents as they work to complete career-focused postsecondary credentials (degree or skilled trade) leading to sustainable employment with family-supporting wages and a better standard of living for the family. 

Proven over 33 years, our model includes:

  • Financial Support (non traditional scholarships, stipends, emergency funds).
  • Personal and Professional Development (job training, financial education, etc.).
  • Individual Mentoring and Coaching.

Qualifications: 

  • Arkansas resident, preferably Central Arkansas area.
  • Five years of full-time professional nonprofit fundraising experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and take initiative.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required. CFRE a plus.
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers preferred.
  • Proven success securing large corporate/individual donations and grants.
  • Extensive knowledge of fundraising strategies and principles.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with constituents of different interests and backgrounds.
  • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and proof of current auto liability insurance required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Executive Director to determine the funding priorities of the organization.
  • Sets annual fundraising goals and proposes and manages budget for fund development program.
  • Serves as a strategic partner to the Executive Director and senior staff, providing thoughtful leadership and high-level support in developing action plans for all stages of the donor cycle.
  • Maintains a substantial donor portfolio with a variety of constituents, including corporations, foundations, and individuals, and actively develops and enhances meaningful and productive relationships with constituents.
  • Builds a relevant case for support to align donor interests with funding priorities and drive increased development activity.
  • Oversees the fundraising process and maintains records of receipts and disbursements of funds.
  • Ensures volunteers are used effectively to enhance agency fundraising success.
  • Plans fundraising events that effectively communicate the purposes of the organization.
  • Works with volunteer leadership, including the Board of Directors, on fundraising initiatives.
  • Tracks and reports relationship management into the CRM efficiently and timely.
  • Adheres to the AFP Code of Ethics for Fundraisers and know/be familiar with the Donor Bill of Rights.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Creates and fosters an environment conducive to high performance and a cohesive team.
  • Mentors and manages fund development staff through clear goals and metrics, including annual performance reviews.
  • Assigns, plans, and oversees the work of the fund development department.
  • Represents the fund development department in senior staff meetings and communication.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
