Position Summary:
This position includes instruction of high school students 10-12 grades in the areas of health sciences, and EMT.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Health Science instructors’ responsibilities include: coordination of student clinical experiences, classroom and lab instruction, student advisement, supervision of students, serve on campus committees, program planning, student evaluation, student recruitment, professional development, classroom and lab instruction, development of curriculum, maintenance of classroom records, and communication with representatives in the field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of healthcare industry
Knowledge of Career and Tech Education
Strong interpersonal skills with diverse populations
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Enjoy working with, and be able to relate to high school aged students
Ability to work in a team
Strong math and communication skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree Paramedic; or EMT with 2 years minimum experience and hold a current unencumbered EMT Instructors license to practice in Arkansas; have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience and have the ability to become a high school certified technical instructor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Emergency Management or Health Sciences related Bachelor Degree; hold a current unencumbered license to practice in Arkansas; have three (3) years of experience working in emergency medicine, hold an Arkansas Teacher License in Health Science; and have one (1) or more years of teaching experience.
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
This position is located at Arkansas Tech Career Center on Knoxville Avenue (Highway 7T) in Russellville Arkansas.
Must be able to stand for long periods, and lift 25 pounds occasionally.
