Position Summary:
The Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for helping coordinate and provide content for the digital media presence of Arkansas Tech University. Reporting to the Webmaster and Digital Strategy Specialist, this individual is an integral member of the MARCOMM digital team
and works to help ensure the department meets its goals across digital platforms. This position has the work from home flexibility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Writes content as needed for the university marketing efforts including email messages, the website, blogs, and social media posts.
Collaborates with other members of the digital team to ensure the posting of timely content on university social media accounts and websites.
Helps create and post social media content for @arkansastech social accounts as needed including photos, videos, and graphics.
Works closely with divisions, departments, and programs one-on-one and via training to enhance content, design and features for social media.
Collaborates with other members of the digital team to assist with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).
Consults with internal clients regarding project scope, strategy and content for email marketing and social media as it pertains to specific projects, programs or events.
Builds reports for the team regarding social media and website analytics
Other duties as assigned by the Webmaster and Digital Strategy Specialist
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledgeable about digital strategy best practices and technologies
Knowledgeable of social media practices and industry standards
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign or Canva/ Adobe Express
Experience with SEO tools and tactics
Solid understanding of social media and web analytics
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, information technology or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
Prior experience working in higher education
Previous experience utilizing a content management software
Successful experiences managing university social media
Experience using a CMS for website work
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
Significant computer time.
May need to carry equipment no more than 20 lbs.
Some nights, evenings, and weekends may be required.
