Arkoosh Law Offices is Hiring an Associate Attorney - Criminal, Civil, Family Near Boise, ID

Arkoosh Law Offices has an opportunity for an individual with integrity, a strong sense of service, and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment to join our growing firm as an Associate Attorney. A desire to litigate civil, criminal, and family law cases is required. Arkoosh Law Offices is seeking candidates with 0-6 years of experience as our firm provides in-depth training, but we welcome exceptional candidates at any level of experience. 

About the job:

Schedule: Full-time, office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Salary: DOE. A competitive compensation package includes base salary and bonus opportunities.

Job Summary: The primary role of the Associate Attorney is to provide legal services to clients by managing litigation cases and resolving legal disputes on behalf of clients in criminal defense, and other related matters. The Associate Attorney’s focus will be on criminal defense, but opportunities to practice other areas of law will be available.

Reporting: This position reports directly to the Partners.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and preserve working relationships with clients; understand and respect client goals. Prepare clients for realistic outcome of case.
  • Conduct and prepare legal research for legal proceedings on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare correspondence, affidavits, and legal documents on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare and file pleadings on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare and file briefs and motions in court on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare and obtain discovery on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings and trials on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain current, working knowledge of the Idaho Rules of Professional Conduct.
  • Ensure client files are up-to-date and organized.
  • Lead team of Paralegals on a case-by-case basis.
  • Operate a personal vehicle when necessary to conduct company business.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Proficient in oral presentation of case position and argument for case outcome

  • Highly proactive, self-motivated, and innovative.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of tasks with different time demands.
  • Strong business math skills (including basic Algebra).
  • Highly proficient in web browsers and internet searches; proficient in Microsoft Office, Acrobat Pro, and web-based conferencing. Ability to learn new software.
  • Comfortable with answering phones and office machines.
  • Work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrate understanding of the need for simple tasks to be accomplished regardless of professional capacity.

Education and Experience:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Must have passed the Bar Exam and be licensed to practice law in Idaho.
  • Must have 0-6 years of experience practicing law, but candidates with more experience are also welcome to apply.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move or transport up to 20 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to position self as needed for routine office work such as accessing filing cabinets or using the phone; ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, scanner, and printer.
  • Ability to be mobile as related to business needs.
