ROLE AND PURPOSE:
Transform complex student information system data into Power BI reports that drive strategic decision-making across the district. Continuously improve data quality and processes. Provide excellent customer service to other departments. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical skills with customer service skills to deliver high-quality data results and reporting solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in T-SQL programming.
- 1-3 years of experience in developing and maintaining Power BI reports.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 databases
- Experience with SSRS and SSIS
- Frontline ERP/SIS software (Frontline TEAMS, formerly Prologic)
- Database tools including SQL Server Management Studio and DB Visualizer
- Knowledge of developing in various computer languages such as ASP.Net, C#, VB, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, and jQuery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain BI reports using Microsoft Power BI.
- Test, optimize, and refactor existing Power BI reports to improve design, functionality, and performance.
- Create and maintain documentation to help users navigate through Power BI reports.
- Automate existing processes and systems, when possible, to improve efficiency.
- Write T-SQL code to prepare data for analysis, reporting, and various data needs.
- Cleanse and validate data to guarantee data quality.
- Identify analysis and reporting opportunities by exploring the data.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their data analysis needs and translate them into data reports.
- Implement appropriate data access controls that comply with data security and privacy regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, implementing new feature requests, and resolving data and technical issues.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as assigned.
- Create and maintain SQL Server Jobs.
- Maintain technology infrastructure and Task Scheduler processes.
