Arlington Psychological Services is Hiring a Mental Health Specialist Near Arlington, IL

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor/Therapist to join our team. As a Mental Health Counselor/Therapist, you will provide support and assistance to elementary aged children, teens, and adults with mental health conditions. Your role will involve implementing treatment plans, providing psychotherapy, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Duties:

- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans developed by mental health professionals

- Monitor and document patient behaviors, progress, and responses to treatment

- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients

- Assist patients with skill development, coping strategies, insight, and support services

- Facilitate therapeutic activities such as individual, family, and couple's therapy sessions and/or play therapy

- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop individualized care plans for each patient

- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients

- Respond to crisis situations in a calm and effective manner

Requirements:

- Graduate Degree (Master's or Doctorate degree in psychology, social work, or counseling.)

- Previous experience working in a collge counseling center is highly desirable

- Knowledge of general psychotherapy, E/RP, DBT, ACT, Solution Focused Therapy, and other treatment modalities, including play therapy and family therapy

- Familiarity with various therapeutic techniques such as art therapy or gender issues counseling

- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

- Licensure is required (IDFPR: LCSW, LCPC, Clinical Psychologist. You must be licensed.)
