JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER/LEARNING SPECIALIST

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master's Degree in Special Education Preferred
  2. Two or more years successful teaching experience in Special Education
  3. Massachusetts Certification in Special Education (Moderate/Severe)

REPORTS TO:Special Education Coordinator & Building Principal

JOB GOAL:

Responsible for planning instruction and/or curricula adaptations for included special needs students which allow students to meet high standards and success in typical settings.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide direct instruction to students enrolled in special
  2. Plan and modify regular
  3. Consult with regular education
  4. Monitor student progress in regular
  5. DevelopIEP, determine goals and obj
  6. Prepare progress
  7. Organize and chairs annual Team
  8. Administer testing for evaluations and end of year
  9. Maintain contact with
  10. Attend building Learning Team
  11. Perform other tasks as assigned by building Principal/Special Education

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

183 Work Days (End of August- End of June)
