Job Summary:

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of the billing process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of billing procedures in the trucking industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

- Generate accurate invoices for customers based on load and transportation agreements.

- Review and verify documentation for billing, ensuring all necessary information is included.

- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.

- Coordinate with the operations and dispatch teams to ensure all billing information is current and accurate.

- Address and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues promptly.

- Maintain organized records of billing and payments.

- Prepare regular reports on billing activities and account statuses.

- Assist in the development and implementation of billing policies and procedures.

- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to billing.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

- Proven experience as a Billing Specialist OR in a similar role within the trucking or transportation industry.

- Strong understanding of billing and invoicing processes.

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
