Arlo Williamsburg is Hiring a Hotel-Events Ops Manager Near Brooklyn, NY

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist Events teams – and Events Manager - with administrative support including answering phones, responding to emails, scheduling appointments with clients, filing and copying, creating event signage, etc.
  • Create, revise, detail, and distribute BEOs as instructed by Events Manager team
  • Independently operate and work smaller events under $20,000
    • Create floorplans in Prismm
    • Schedule and manage deliveries, vendor timing and all F&B components of the event
    • Upsell F&B, amenities and staff
  • Assist with client balance collection, billing and closing out PMs
  • Conduct ordering for event equipment rentals, staffing and other event components to aid the Banquet Manager
  • Ensure all events & venue reservations are properly entered and blocked in Delphi & calendar
  • Attend weekly BEO meetings
  • Answer basic client questions
  • Assist with day-of execution of events or large party reservations when needed.
    • Serve as the Banquet Manager as required for events as required with advance notice for events that are $20,000 or under – this is to supplement staff during busy season/busy event days
      • This may include weekends and late nights
  • Assist Events Team with Operating Events
  • Conduct site visits for the Sales Team
  • Perform other job-related activities as required or assigned by a supervisor/manager

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • 2 years in event planning, design or management
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail
  • Prioritizes effectively and manages workload
  • Excellent communicator with strong teamwork skills
  • Self-directed problem-solver with initiative
  • Adapts quickly, thrives in fast-paced environments
  • Highly professional and maintains confidentiality
  • Manages event emergencies, prioritizing solutions for customer satisfaction
  • Proactive learner: eager to grasp departmental, company, event details, and existing systems
