**SUMMARY**
Responsible for overseeing the management of daily network transportation operations activity across the 3rd Shift. Ensure timely transportation, adequate capacity, and optimal transportation costs to facilitate assured supply objectives. Drive process/performance improvement by assisting in the tracking of carrier/lane level performance through KPI report reviews, assisting in carrier management, team issue management and resolution, supervisory support and guidance, and relationship building.

Assist in the management and support of all transportation operations inbound to Armadas redistribution facilities, inbound to our customers distribution centers, suppliers, and Armada managed warehouses to ensure service, capacity and cost objectives are met.
Coordinate first response activity SCCs to resolve service issues. Escalate issues as required to Trans Ops and Transportation Procurement leadership. Follow up as required to insure desired service results are achieved.
Ensure that e-mail traffic and TMS is proactively monitored by the teams to effectively manage the network activity
Oversee and assist in resolution of carrier, supplier and DC issues regarding:
Approve staffing schedule before it is published to ensure proper labor coverage across the regions
Coordinate with Management Team the balancing of SCC resources when covering PTOs
Manage inbound LTL deliveries into Armada facilities, as well as spot market LTL coverage
Manage load coverage needs in the evening
Work to resolve QA issues that arise afterhours

Proactively coordinate the monitoring of carrier performance levels, evaluating the performance of LTL carriers in delivering on time, finding cost efficient means of meeting on time delivery, and facilitate performance improvement calls with carriers consistently falling below the minimum 95% on time threshold
Proactively monitor and evaluate customer service levels for carrier, shipping and receiving locations and support the development and implementation action plans for improvements
Notify Trans Ops managers and Procurement about chronic carrier issues
Support SCC to maintain Established Performance Levels for:
* **Team Development**
Support the skill and educational development of direct reports including assistance in the new hire orientations/training
Conduct regular Coaching sessions with the SCCs
* **Process Improvement**
Oversee the analysis of existing shipping processes for possible improvements. Provide support for various implementation plans to effect ongoing productivity improvement
Work with Transportation Analysts to reduce year over year spend by managing total transportation costs, including accessorial management
* **Other related duties as assigned**

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education and Experience Requirement**
Minimum:
* 2-4 years experience in transportation operations experience preferred
* Bachelors degree in Business, Communications or Supply Chain preferred
Preferred:
* Bachelors degree in Supply Chain
Experience:
* Experience with at least two of the following modes of transportation: temp controlled, LTL, Intermodal, and dry truckload transportation.
* Supervisory skills in leading small groups.
**Language and Technical Skills requirement**
* Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook & Access, TMS applications
* Ability to interface with other functional areas including carrier management.
* Thorough understanding of surface transportation management terms and concepts
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proven analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
