CONTINGENT UPON AWARDING OF GOVERNMENT CONTRACT

The Security Specialist assists with the overall management and operations of the AOC Security Program.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• The Security Specialist II shall act as a liaison and coordinate with various Legislative Branch Organizations on security matters.
• Assist program officials with developing written procedures compliant to established policies.
• Develop, review, and revise general security policies and procedures.
• Provide routine management for a SCIF and classified information security program.
• Conduct security briefings and training sessions for personnel accessing classified information, OPSEC and general security awareness training.
• The Security Specialist II shall participate in security audits and inspections, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending corrective actions.
• Assist in incident response and reporting, including investigating security breaches.
• Provide support and guidance to security staff and other personnel on security-related matters.
• The Security Specialist II will stay updated on changes in security regulations and best practices, advising the organization accordingly.
• Assist with other security duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) :

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.

Minimum / General Experience :

• The Security Specialist II must have a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and the ability to maintain such clearance throughout the life of the contract
• Minimum of four (4), preferably six (6), years of relevant multi-disciplined security experience to include but not limited to physical security, SCIF, secure room management, information security and policy development.
• Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials.
