Fire Sprinkler Inspector

$30 and UP an hour depending on experience, qualifications, and certifications. A minimum of 40 hours a week is guaranteed. Some overnight and out of town work is probable.

Every Candidate must demonstrate expertise in fire sprinkler system service and inspection. Every Candidate must be competent with the components of a fire sprinkler system and how they work. Every Candidate must be certified to inspect fire sprinkler systems in the State of North Carolina required, NICET Level II test and inspection of water based layout preferred or must be able to attain within in 6 months. It is preferred that every Inspector also be competent in reading blue prints, sprinkler fitting, machine operating, pipe threading, problem solving, and communicating. Every candidate must be good at processing work orders, required service paperwork and pictures and be organized. Candidate must be familiar with backflow preventers and carry at least a NC and preferably a SC certification.

The ideal candidate must be able to meet the following requirements

o Be certified as a Fire Sprinkler Inspector in North Carolina.

o We are a 24 hour service provider so portion of service calls expected to respond

o Meet the physical demand of this position which includes lifting, squatting, and climbing ladders while carrying up to 80 lbs.

o Working in the elements and at heights on ladders and/or lifts.

o Have a valid Driver's License.

o Have a Presentable appearance.

o Be well organized.

o Possess good communication

o Possess basic computer skills

o Be able to identify and address/service problems with systems.

Systems include the following: wet systems, dry systems, deluge systems, water mist systems, pre-action systems, special hazards, fire pumps, fire hydrants, underground mains, foam systems, backflow testing & repair, tank inspections, standpipe systems, etc.
