THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a Painter (Title 32) (Permanent), Position Description Number D1217000 and is part of the VA G4, National Guard.
Qualifications:
NOTE: Qualifications are based on breadth/level of experience. NOTE: This position requires the applicant to be fitted for a respirator annually for daily use, to perform the duties of the position in accordance with OSHA standard 1910.134, AR 11-34 and Virginia Respiratory Protection? SOP. To maintain a proper fit, you must shave daily. Facial hair presents serious problems for tight-fitting face piece respirators because their texture and density vary daily, causing unreliable respirator to fit and, therefore, present a higher potential for leakage.
NOTE: If you have a shaving profile, you are not eligible for the position.
WHO CAN APPLY:
GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E-1/PVT - E-7/SFC) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E-1/PVT - E-7/SFC), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
Military Grades: Enlisted Personnel (E-1/PVT - E-7/SFC)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the candidate's knowledge of surface preparation (removal of rust, dirt, paint, etc.); coating methods (brushing, rolling, and spraying); and coating materials (paints, varnishes, shellacs, etc.). Must have the ability to use tools and equipment associated with the painting trade and to read and interpret directions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 18 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the WG-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the WG grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as:
