Job Title: Mainframe Developer

Location: Spring Field - IL (5 Days Onsite)

Term: Contract

Must-Have:- Insurance Domain

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL programming language.
• Write and maintain JCL (Job Control Language) scripts for batch processing tasks.
• Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to design efficient and scalable solutions within the insurance domain.
• Perform unit testing and debugging of application code to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with business analysts, systems analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure compliance with coding standards, performance optimization, and best practices.
• Provide support for production issues and perform troubleshooting and resolution as needed.
• Document technical designs, code, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to mainframe development and the insurance domain.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing development processes, tools, and methodologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer with strong proficiency in COBOL programming language.
• Extensive hands-on experience with JCL (Job Control Language) for batch processing tasks.
• Solid understanding of the insurance domain and related business processes.
• Familiarity with DB2 or other mainframe databases is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) is a plus.
