Location: Cartersville, Georgia (THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION)

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and are seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Manager to join our elite team.

Position Summary:

The Regulatory Compliance Manager will ensure all our operations comply with regulatory standards, including IFRA, EU, FEMA, PROP 65, TSCA, DSL, GHS, REACH, and EPA regulations. This role involves monitoring and managing regulatory risks, maintaining compliance documentation, and leading training sessions to keep our team informed of regulatory changes. The position requires strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the regulatory environment within the fragrance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all external regulatory and legal requirements (IFRA, EU, RIFM, CLP, FEMA, PROP 65, TSCA, DSL, GHS, REACH, and EPA) as well as internal policies.

- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, standards, and procedures to comply with applicable regulations.

- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure ongoing compliance and manage regulatory risk.

- Act as the liaison between the company and regulatory bodies, handling inspections, audits, and other regulatory interactions.

- Maintain open communication with relevant decision-makers and stakeholders about regulatory changes.

Product Safety and Toxicology

- Conduct safety assessments for fragrance ingredients and finished products.

-Coordinate and interpret toxicological studies, including skin sensitization, irritation, and other relevant tests.

Risk Management:

- Identify and manage regulatory risks in collaboration with management and staff.

- Develop contingency plans to handle potential compliance breaches.

- Conduct root cause analysis of compliance incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Training and Development:

- Develop regulatory strategies for new products and markets, including product registrations, notifications, and submissions.

- Organize and conduct regular training sessions to communicate key regulatory changes and updates to employees.

- Provide guidance and support on regulatory matters to ensure employees understand and adhere to compliance requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Prepare and manage regulatory documentation such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Technical Data Sheets (TDS), and Product Information Files (PIF).

- Maintain detailed documentation of compliance activities, including audits, risk assessments, and training sessions.

- Ensure compliance with labeling regulations, including allergen disclosure, ingredient lists, and warning statements

- Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.

- Keep abreast of regulatory developments and update company policies accordingly.

Leadership:

- Lead the compliance efforts, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

- Work effectively with R&D, marketing, legal, and other departments to ensure regulatory compliance throughout product development and commercialization.

- Communicate with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other stakeholders regarding compliance issues and regulatory updates.

- Promote ethical behavior and decision-making across the organization.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum requirement in Chemistry, Biology, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced Degree (Preferred): Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science (MS) in Regulatory Affairs, or Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), ISO 13485 Lead Auditor Certification, and Certified Regulatory Affairs Professional (RAPS).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably within the fragrance, cosmetics, or a related industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRA, EU, FEMA, PROP 65, TSCA, DSL, GHS, REACH, CLP (Classification, Labeling and Packaging) and EPA regulations.
  • Proven track record in managing compliance programs and leading audits. (TRIFOIL, LISAM, and FormPak)
  • Extensive experience in dealing with regulatory bodies and understanding of the regulatory environment specific to the fragrance industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage compliance programs and lead audits.
