Manages daily transit operations within their geographical area.
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate education and experience. CDL with passenger endorsements. Minimum 4 years supervisory experience. Ability to regularly travel within large geographical area. Computer literate.
Needed Attributes: Self-starter with organizational and management skills. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work with the elderly, disabled, and economically disadvantaged.
Addtional Comments- Recruits, selects, supervises and evaluates employees including disciplinary procedures
- Negotiates revenue contracts
- Monitors and manages county expense budgets including business evaluations
- Trains new drivers in operating procedures
- Meets with businesses and community leaders to develop new routes
- Schedules drivers and vehicles
- Develops, maintains, and reviews route manifests
- Completes federal and state reports
- Performs grant writing
- Organizes, schedules, and moderates city/county advisory committees
- Promotes services through public relations/marketing and assists with the community needs assessment
- Performs dispatch and driver duties
- Monitors program for federal and state rules/regulation compliance
