The Position
The Production Scheduler III will be responsible for managing the near and long-term production schedule for the Manufacturing Teams production schedule. They will do this by upkeeping a high-visibility long-term schedule and sending out regular updates on the near-term future. Scheduling will involve matching process activities with equipment/room/personnel availability and capability.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily production schedules during planning horizon and adjusting schedules in response to disruptions or other changes, while considering varied capabilities of equipment per room
- Adjust scheduling practices based on historical production time, sample analysis turnaround, and maintenance downtime
- Assist with data mining performance metrics to compare actual production performance with scheduling KPIs
- Issue detailed schedules on what to produce based on an optimized time-phased production plan with start/end dates & times that drive plant operations
- Coordinate production schedules that consider maintenance, room release, in-process testing, process development time, equipment cleanings/maintenance, and personnel availability
- Coordinate activities and be proactive with campaign readiness in coordinating with other teams: Tech Transfer, Master Data, Analytical Development, Quality Control, Metrology, and Quality Assurance
- Work with planning, project management, toxicology, CMC, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain production schedules to meet appropriate deadlines
- Track progress against project timelines, generate regular status updates, and communicate progress and issues to management, including presentations at team meetings
- Establish new communication business practices to ensure production schedule is accurate and available
- Perform other related duties, as required
Requirements:
- BS or MS in a Science, Data Science, or Engineering field
- 5 years experience in a GMP production role
Preferred:
- Experience with MS Project, Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet
- 6 years experience in a GMP production role
- 2 years experience in a plant scheduling role
