Monday and Saturday 4:45 AM - 11:00 AM Position DescriptionThe Dispensing Nurse is responsible for dispensing any medications the clinic may utilize in the treatment of patients. The Dispensing Nurse is responsible for the completeness of all medical aspects of the medical record and works with the Director of Nursing to assure appropriate medical care for patients. The Dispensing Nurse will adhere to the vision and mission of the Company Essential Functions
Sets up for dispensing of medication and dispenses medication
Monitors medication inventory and reports to charge nurse
Reconciles inventory of Methadone and Suboxone at conclusion of dosing
Prints daily reports
Signs and processes physician orders
Enters notes in Methasoft and inputs flags as per physician orders
Completes COW’s as needed to process dose changes and puts notes in systems
Processes phase change requests
Documents “no-shows” in system
Coordinates guest medication
Collects UDS as needed
Monitors vital signs for dose changes
Files appropriate paperwork
Calibrates Methadone pump
Participates in Treatment team and regular Medical Meetings as per Licensure standards.
Prints, signs and files monthly medication record
Be proficient with State Licensure Standards, CARF Standards, 42 CFR and HIPAA standards and Company policies.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a license from the state as a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse (depending on State requirements).
Some understanding of substance abuse.
Ability to make independent decisions when needed
Proficient in the use of personal computers
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Successful completion of State required background check and required trainings.
