Job Summary:

Or client has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Manager located at its Asheboro, NC facility. The HR Manager is responsible for managing all human resources functions in conjunction with corporate policies/guidelines and applicable state and federal laws. This role will report to the Site Manager.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of qualified job applicants. Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Coordinate with temporary and recruiting agencies as needed.
  • Regularly communicate with all employees in the facility on any and all HR related matters
  • Coordinate with Management and Plant Leadership to make sure that everyone is enforcing the company policies and practices.
  • Develop/Maintain Job Descriptions
  • Develop/Maintain the Employee Handbook and regularly train the employees on these topics
  • Administer and process FMLA requests.
  • Conduct proper investigations and determine resolutions in regards to employee grievances
  • Benefits administration. Work with a brokerage company each year on annual enrollment activities. Work with carriers on a regular basis and administer benefits to the employees.
  • Prepare and Maintain Shift Maps and communicate staffing changes to the Management team
  • Update and regularly maintain plant HRIS systems and Benefit Systems.
  • Assist in maintaining time and attendance for the employees and assist Accounting with finalizing payroll
  • Complete required audits and reports in regards to all HR functions.
  • Work regularly with the corporate HR team on corporate initiatives
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Human Resources Management, or similar plus 5 years of related work experience; or 10 years of relevant work experience is preferred. HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, and/or SPHR preferred.
  • Excellent written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities
  • Strong knowledge of Federal & State employment laws required.
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task, prioritize, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds
