JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
The Warehouse and Shipping Associate is responsible for receiving raw materials, managing inventory, and loading finished goods for shipment. This role will supply production cells with necessary items promptly, following work orders and supervisor directives. The main objective will be to ensure the efficient flow of materials and products in and out of the plant.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions

  • Receive and verify incoming raw materials, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, utilizing our inventory management system, (QAD), as necessary.
  • Engage in the process of physically counting and auditing inventory as required.
  • Efficiently stack and store materials.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, sorting, packing, and labeling.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks, using appropriate equipment and safety procedures.
  • Utilize the tire machine to install rims and tires as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve plant processes and efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.

Qualifications for the Job

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing facility or shipping role is preferred, but not required.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous experience operating forklifts or the willingness to undergo forklift training is necessary.
  • Ability to read work order packets and manufacturing prints.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety protocols and a readiness to utilize personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots, etc.

Work Environment: Throughout the summer months, the employee may be exposed to hot and humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud; hearing protection is required in all areas of the plant, 100% of the time.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to twenty (20) pounds frequently; fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach, push, pull, crawl, kneel and climb.
  • Requires frequent outdoor work, including during inclement weather conditions when necessary.
  • Safely and efficiently operate various equipment, including but not limited to stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours and up to ten (10) hours per day.
