Artelye Marble & Granite is Hiring a Building Maintenance Technician Near Beltsville, MD

  1. Conduct regular inspections of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, to identify issues and perform necessary repairs or maintenance.
  2. Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubricating machinery, replacing filters, and cleaning equipment, to prevent breakdowns and prolong the life of building systems.
  3. Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or systems, such as light fixtures, faucets, doors, windows, locks, and appliances, to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  4. Perform general maintenance tasks, such as painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and minor plumbing or electrical work, to maintain the appearance and integrity of the building.
  5. Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance tasks, and coordinate with vendors or suppliers for the procurement of materials or services as needed.
  6. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards in all maintenance activities, and report any safety hazards or violations to management promptly.
  7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, repairs, and inventory. 
  8. Provide assistance and support to other departments or staff members as needed, and participate in emergency response procedures or crisis management activities as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in building maintenance, facilities management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in building maintenance or facilities management, with knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical or technical issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards related to building maintenance and operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with coworkers, and contractors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
