Schedule: 3 hours per day, 3 days a week (flexible days)

Job Description: Consuelo Jimenez Underwood is seeking a dedicated studio assistant during her residency from July through September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a student or recent graduate with a focus on fiber, materials, or woven structures in their art major.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with hand stitching projects, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
• Operate a sewing machine efficiently to support various artistic projects.
• Prepare and organize materials needed for different fiber art pieces.
• Collaborate with Consuelo to maintain a productive and inspiring studio environment.
• Perform other studio-related tasks as needed to support the artist's creative process.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Art, with an emphasis on Fiber/Materials/Woven Structures.
• Proficient in hand stitching techniques with a keen eye for detail.
• Experienced in using sewing machines for various types of fabric and fiber arts.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Passion for fiber arts and an appreciation for contemporary fiber arts.
