Ascella Technologies is Hiring a Hedge Fund Analyst Near Washington, DC

We are looking for an Asset Verification Data Analyst to conduct independent confirmations of financial data directly with various people, including examiners at a federal agency. This position would be fully remote and is open to eligible candidates within the United States.

What you will be doing

  • Assisting examination staff in reviewing accounts and performing statistical sampling routines to derive representative samples of accounts
  • Reviewing, examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records and financial statements of firms being examined
  • Reconciling reports and financial data and identifying inconsistencies, irregularities, errors, and potential fraudulent activity
  • Performing asset confirmations per end user requirements using Microsoft Office software and a commercial-off-the-self (COTS) product
  • Providing input and guidance on best practices/user guides for the asset verification process including improvements to the account verification tool to enhance its effectiveness and user-friendliness

What you need to be considered for this role (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
  • 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or auditing
  • Familiarity with Microsoft suite of products with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
  • Experience analyzing large amount of data in proper manner
  • Experience generating clear and insightful reports with charts, graphs, and prose for the benefit of financial, legal, and/or enforcement personnel
  • Excellent customer service/communications skills
  • Willingness to go above and beyond the usual to get at the underlying behavior behind financial data
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship required (dual nationals not eligible)
  • Position will require a Public Trust background investigation
  • Considering candidates from DC, IL, NY,NJ Only.
