Ascella Technologies is Hiring a Technical Project Manager Near Washington, DC

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to manage O&M on a suite of business applications at a cabinet level agency. The role is a hands-on position working in an Agile environment. The management of the suite of applications is critical to the Agency’s mission every day of the year. The Project Manager plays an essential role in several work streams as they will interface with many IT systems.

The Project Manager position will require both management and technical skills (see below) to be successful. Also, experience as a federal contractor is essential. The position requires a solid understanding of the agency-contractor relationship as this position involves interaction with numerous federal managers and other contracting companies. Thus, the Project Manager needs strong communication skills.

What you will be doing

  • Mastering the current contract/performance work statement
  • Serving as the primary POC to the government and providing overall leadership and guidance for all contractor personnel assigned to this task order.
  • Serving as the responsible person and interfacing with the government and project team for all matters (performance, application, contractual)
  • Creating contract deliverables and having accountability for contract deliverable submissions
  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards and reviewing project deliverables
  • Reviewing and approving invoices
  • Developing detailed work plans, schedules (road maps), milestone estimates, resource plans, and status reports
  • Managing and updating the project roadmap of major business/technical initiatives
  • Updating agency SDLC documents
  • Conducting project meetings and being responsible for project tracking and analysis
  • Managing staff performance and reviewing and approving timekeeping records
  • Participating in business development efforts, as required

What you need to be considered for this role (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university 
  • PMP Certification 
  • 5 years of project management experience
  • 5 years of experience managing IT Modernization and Enhancement projects valued at $1 million or more per year. 
  • 5 years of experience in business process analysis/workflow improvement. 
  • 5 years of experience working with systems with business intelligence reporting tool capabilities. 
  • 5 years of experience working with waterfall/agile framework/methodology. 
  • 1 year of experience working with financial systems. 
  • 2 years of experience with Salesforce, custom development (including Java), cloud environments (including AWS and Azure) 
  • Ability to execute strategy and deliverables for multiple clients and executives 
  • Previous experience with managing large-scale applications
  • Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills; ability to adapt and manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced challenging environment
  • Expert communication skills: ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats (this skill is of utmost importance to be considered for this position)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality accurate reports.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity while dealing directly with internal and external customers
  • U.S. citizenship or a Green card Holder (and be willing to undergo a background investigation)

Base Compensation: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and we are open to discussing compensation based on your qualifications and experience
