Accounting Manager!
Rare and exciting opportunity! Our client, a family office with several operating companies located in the Chicago area, is looking for an accounting manager to lead the accounting activities for several of the smaller newly acquired or started companies. If you have substantial exposure to family offices, performing key accounting tasks such as monthly closing and budgeting/forecasting and you are looking for the opportunity to grow, this position may be for you.
Highlights
- Opportunity to see and be seen, work closely with the Managing Director, President, General Council, and VP Technology.
- Work a hybrid schedule reporting to the Loop office regularly.
- Close to public transportation
- Play a pivotal role in the development of the accounting function.
- Oversee preparation of business reports and forecasts.
- Oversee the preparation of the budget and perform variance analysis.
- Provide accounting including AP/AR for investment entities and trusts.
- Oversee the production of GAAP compliant financial statements and managerial reports.
- Analyze financial information, evaluate investment, and acquisition opportunities.
- Maintain adequate internal controls; ensure compliance with governmental requirements.
About YOU
- Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA required.
- 8 years' experience in progressively responsible accounting roles.
- Experience in acquisitions and consolidation strongly preferred.
- Experience establishing accounting departments a plus.
- Strong analytical skills; experience with Power BI or other tools preferred.
