Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cash Applications Specialist to join our Finance team. The primary responsibility of this role is to accurately and efficiently process incoming payments and apply them to customer accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and process incoming payments in various forms (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards, etc.).
• Match payments to invoices and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all cash applications and related transactions.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies and issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Accounting, Sales, Customer Service) to resolve customer inquiries related to payments.
• Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly cash application reports.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all cash transactions.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to cash applications.
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures related to cash handling and application.

Requirements:

• Proven experience 2 plus years as a Cash Applications Specialist or similar role.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and cash application processes.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with [specific ERP system] preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
