Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs specialized imaging procedures involving the administration of radioisotopes to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining imaging and laboratory equipment, ensuring patient care and safety, and adhering to state regulations and quality assurance protocols. The technologist works closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Competently perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including the administration of radioisotopes, while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
• Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable imaging results.
• Provide compassionate patient care, ensuring comfort and confidentiality throughout the imaging process.
• Flexibly assume additional responsibilities as needed to support the department and team.
• Follow all state regulations and perform and maintain department quality assurance (QA) procedures and documentation.
• Assist in the training and education of new staff members and students, fostering a collaborative and educational environment.
• Maintain all required credentials and continuing education (CE) credits necessary for the position.

Education:

• Associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine or graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine certificate program.

Licensure/Certification:

• NYS Department of Health License.
• NMTCB; plus CT certification or ARRT; NM plus CT or DX certification.

Experience:

• Experience in nuclear medicine is a plus, but new graduates are welcome to apply.

Skills:

• High proficiency in nuclear medicine imaging techniques and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Work Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM (40 hrs/wk)
