Seeking an Operational Risk Officer for our client

This position will coordinate Operational Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) across the various business lines within the organization and serve as an operational expert to improve the mitigation of operational risks.

You will:

• Collaborate with Risk Owners to assess key processes, risks, mitigating controls and action plan development
• Investigate operational risk events and perform root cause analysis to recommend improvements.
• Record and update the operational risk events register.
• Record in tracking tool and monitor the implementation of action plans on the RCSA
• Validate the implementation of action plans by the process owners.
• Preparing reports to Board Risk Committee.
• Perform operational risk reviews for new or existing products
• Complete annual training program assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar field is preferred.
• 5 years of experience in Banking, Financial Services, Operational Risk Management or internal audit experience.
• Knowledge of banking laws and regulations, COSO and ERM frameworks and experience in root cause analysis, fraud prevention and risk mitigation / audit.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
• Must be fluent in English. Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
• Proven ability to challenge business operating units with regards to first line and second line functions.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
