What You’ll Do
The Manager, Business Development-Inside Sales is responsible for developing business growth in the new and existing small to medium customer segment across the On-Demand, International Freight Forwarding and Domestic over the road (truckload, LTL, intermodal) segment.
- Identifies the opportunity, determines, and presents the appropriate transportation solution based on customers service needs and overall potential.
- Controls and directs the Customer Transition & Integration (CTI) functions (account set up and implementation based on the import or export and mode specific requirements) through deep understanding of operations, pricing/RFQ/RFP, carrier selection, routing, CBP and other government agencies.
- Manages sales processes across all opportunities to meet and exceed revenue goals and KPI’s.
- Oversees sales activity in the CRM and communicates with all stakeholders.
- Develop and execute strategic plan to grow revenue from small and medium-sized accounts, aligning with overall company objectives and sales targets. Collaborate and align with appropriate level of sales on account strategy.
- Work closely with operations and sales support departments to ensure smooth handling of shipments, transition from Business Development - Inside Sales to Operations and/or appropriate level of outside sales to create a positive customer experience.
- Coach and mentor junior team members to help them succeed and achieve their goals.
- Accountable for key performance metrics to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous sales performance enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, including marketing, customer excellence, and quality teams to optimize sales processes, enhance customer experience, and drive customer growth and retention.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to adjust business development inside sales strategies and stay ahead of the curve.
- Prepare and present regular reports and updates to management on sales performance, forecasts, and strategic initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
- 3 years related sales or inside sales experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Intimate knowledge of international transportation industry including US Customs & Border protection.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel
- Detailed organizational and excellent time management skills
- Must be able to think and react quickly with a sense of urgency to time sensitive problem situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in CRM software, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
